Review Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6

Is the iPhone 6 or samsung galaxy S6 the right choice for you – review Samsung galaxy s6 vs iPhone 6? Or, could it be the Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge. Comparing these two phones is very hard to do as they are so different yet so much of the same. The Galaxy S6 will be released in April while the iPhone 6 is already out and about on the market.

Fundamentally these phones are different, but they are both smartphones with very similar functions. Build quality and material is now very similar. Samsung definitely wanted to shy away from inferior build materials with the Galaxy S6. Every surface is now a combination of Aluminum and Glass. The iPhone 6 is made from a unibody slab of aluminum that was machined out in order to make room for components. The iPhone 6 is slightly smaller with a dimension rating of 138.1 x 67 x 6.9mm. Galaxy S6 is at 143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8 mm. The Galaxy S6 Edge features different dimensions than standard S6 at 142 x 70.1 x 7.0 mm. The Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6 is just 0.1 mm thinner. iPhone 6 is slightly lighter at 129 grams vs 138 grams. These devices look very similar in size but the iPhone 6 is the smaller more rounded counterpart.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6 looks very overpowered. An A8 64 bit chip rated at 1.4 Ghz is competing with an Exynos 7 Octa core, 64 bit chip.

There are 4 cores with 2.1 Ghz capability and 4 with 1.5 Ghz capability. Apple’s iPhone is dual core, while Samsung’s is octa core. Only 1 GB of ram is powering the iPhone and 3 is inside the S6 with LPDDR4 standard. Fear not though, Apple is well known for their system optimization and can make use of a smaller processor in order to achieve greater speed. Androids solution is to simply add more power in order to attain speed.
Camera modules on these phones are both great but the iPhone 6 is really starting to fall behind. Rear facing camera is 16 megapixels on the Samsung and 8 megapixels on the iPhone. Between the Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6, megapixels aren’t everything, it’s the actual size of the camera sensor that matters. Aperture is slightly better on S6 at f/1.9 and f/2.2 on iPhone 6. Both phones feature new Phase Detection Focus Pixels which are usually found on most high end DSLR cameras. True Tone flash is unique to the iPhone, it has 2 different colored flash units which can adjust to conditions to ensure a perfect photo when using flash. Real time HDR and selective focus is found on both devices. Samsung has also added an optical image stabilization capability to the Galaxy S6.
Video capability is also fantastic on both phones. The S6 is 4K 30 FPS capable which is quite rare to see on a smartphone, the 6 can only go up to 60 FPS at 1080P. Slow motion has been upgraded on the iPhone to achieve 240 Frames Per Second at 720p where as the S6 can only do 120. Front facing cameras are 1.2 megapixels on iPhone 6 and capable of 720p video vs 5.0 megapixels and 1080p video.
Battery life across these devices is quite good and will allow for entire day usage easily. Both of these handsets now feature non removable batteries. Current battery specs are unknown on the S5 but it does come with fast charging mode and ultra power saving mode.
